We are fast approaching the 50th anniversary of our high school graduation.    Sixteen members of the classes of 1958 and 1959 of both George Washington and Hammond High Schools are busy working on plans to have a celebration worthy of such a milestone.   We will keep the website updated with pertinent information regarding the reunion.   In addition, invitations and registration forms will be mailed in March to all classmates for whom we have addresses. 

There is a list of classmates for whom we have no information on the 1958 roster.   If you know the whereabouts of any of these individuals, please let us know.  For a list of our classmates, click '58 ROSTER.

The Class Reunion for this group will be held October 3-5, 2008, at the Holiday Inn and Suites in Alexandria, Virginia.   Information on this event is available by clicking REUNION.

Lacy Jones found a couple of old photos reminding him of his days in the GWHS Cadet Corps and wanted to share them by sending us a copy. You can see these photos by click on HERE.

Philip Jones: Quit teaching after 36½ years of teaching all levels of Spanish (7th grade through graduate school). I received a Ph.D. in medieval Spanish from Catholic University. Hope to publish a book of essays, poems and short stories this summer and publish a Spanish education book around the same time. Janet (my wife) and I live in isolated west Texas, a county of three (3) blinking lights, no stop lights and is 100 miles wide at its widest point and 105 miles deep. The town of Alpine is in the mountains of west Texas at an altitude of about 5,000 feet.

Old & New Photo: Here we have some of our classmates' senior high school picture as it appeared in the Compass along with a current picture or photo. Not only have we gracefully aged, some of us look better today.
