The George Washington High School classes
of 1958 and 1959 and the Francis C. Hammond High School classes of 1958
and 1959 celebrated a joint 50th reunion on October 4, 2008, at the
Holiday Inn and Suites in Alexandria. More than 200 individuals attended
the dinner dance, and all seemed to have a good time reconnecting and
reminiscing. There are currently no plans to host another reunion. If
anyone is interested in spearheading such an event, he or she is welcome
to do so. Sarah Webster Capponi has a list of classmates that is updated
as information is submitted to her by classmates and friends or relatives
of classmates. She no longer searches the internet or the telephone
directory to locate missing individuals. This list can serve as the basis
for planning another reunion. There is an annual George Washington High School Alumni picnic. Information on the event is always available on this website. There is also a lunch bunch that meets monthly. Information on the lunch appears in the newsletter. The picnic and the lunch are open to members of all classes. |
