The Annual Spring Social is one of two major events hosted each year by the George Washington High School Alumni Association (GWAA). It is, in essence, a yearly membership meeting and luncheon. We do combine the Election of New Board Members into this activity. Bit don’t worry, most of that work will have been completed ahead of time and mainly only the final results are announced.

This all-around fun event is open to all GWHS alumni, staff and their families or friends.

The GW Alumni Association picks up the FULL cost ($13+ for meal, tax and tip) of the spring luncheon for all those attendees who are current GWAA Members (regular, joint, associate, or honorary) and a few invited dignitaries. Eligible attendees will be GIVEN a ticket at the restaurant door that entitles you to a FREE fantastic buffet lunch. 

However, any Non-Member of GWAA, who attends, will need to pay $12 of the restaurant charge at the door. THUS, if you're NOT currently a GWAA member, BUT you ARE QUALIFIED to join, we urge you to renew your membership or join the Association right now*.

So you see, it is a very opportune time to join the Association since the VERY nominal cost of a 1-year membership ($10) is actually LESS than the actual individual lunch cost ($12.81)! Therefore, you save $2.81 on your lunch AND become a member! A REAL NO-BRAIN-ER!

*Click on GWAA Membership Application to check the dues structure, then print the application, fill it out and send it in with your dues. The nominal annual dues can be further reduced by choosing a multi-year (3 year or 5 year) advance payment.

In addition to this well attended Spring Social function (has averaged over 120 attendees in the last three years), the GWAA also provides the Annual Picnic and substantially subsidizes the cost for its members.

Besides the fun, camaraderie and enjoyment derived attending the annual events, these added benefits make it extremely cost-effective for alumni to join the GWAA and take advantage of all the alumni activities.
